Sam is passionate about his work and has focused his efforts on what he calls his Two Rules:  Rule #1 – Just don’t lose the money and Rule #2 – Don’t forget Rule #1.  “If I am working with a couple that who is retiring,” explains Sam, “my concern is not limited to making sure their savings will always be there for their enjoyment during retirement, but that it will also be passed on to their loved ones when they pass on. One big mistake a lot of retirees make is not planning for a nursing home disaster. This can leave the healthy spouse broke.

We make certain that we cover all the bases and leave nothing to chance by planning for the worst and hoping for the best! We build futures for generations to come.”  Sam believes that risk management and being able to keep your life’s work protected is just as important as growing your money.

Defense is sometimes more important than offense.

Some of Sam’s past achievements include being the recipient of the 1999 Boston Business Journal’s 40 Under 40 award, given to forty business and civic leaders in the greater Boston area for their outstanding accomplishments in their business communities. In 2000, he also received the prestigious Francis Lowell Cabot award as the Alumni of the Year for the University of Massachusetts – Lowell. He is a recipient of the Top of the Table award given by the Million Dollar Roundtable in recognition of great achievement within the insurance industry. Most recently, Sam was name a recipient of the prestigious Five Star Wealth Manager award as seen is the February 2010 issue of Boston Magazine. His work has been featured in the Boston Globe, Daily News Tribune and many others. He is the co-author, along with his partner Richard Rubino, of two books: No Blood, No Money and Just Don’t Lose the Money.

Born in Hong Kong, Sam came to America in 1974. It was challenging enough for a nine-year old boy to make new friends and attend a new school – but he also had to learn to speak English! Today, Sam lives in Bedford, MA with his wife, Eileen and their four children, Devin, Samantha, Ethan and Harrison. He enjoys spending time with his family, donating his time to charity and “attempts” to golf.
